The German Society for Higher Education Didactics (dghd) organizes an annual conference on current issues in higher education didactics. In 2027, the conference will be held in Austria for the first time, at the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten (USTP).

The following questions will be at the center of the event:

• How can higher education didactics actively support the future-oriented design of study programs as well as formats for teaching and learning?
• Which didactic and competence-oriented approaches are required for this?
• Which structural conditions need to be promoted?
• How can professionals in teaching and learning development prepare themselves to integrate the new demands placed on higher education study programs into both qualification programs and research projects?

The conference will focus on perspectives of curriculum development as well as on the design of teaching and learning practices. In addition, new approaches to faculty competence development, quality enhancement of teaching, and the further development of academic development itself will be shared and discussed.
